Description

Blues for the Bush LogoThe Shire of Perenjori, together with Bush Heritage Australia, are delighted to be presenting the 2016 Blues for the Bush. A festival designed to engage, excite and delight.

Held at the beautiful Charles Darwin Reserve, approximately 390km NE of Perth, this magical nature reserve will be home to the third Blues for the Bush on the weekend of Friday the 23rd September 2016.

The natural landscape comes alive for this once a year opportunity for the public to visit, and camp, at this biodiversity hotspot. Join us for the Community Open Day which is FREE to all comers and features displays, workshops, materclasses and exhibitions designed with something in mind for everyone. This includes an innovative community arts program with a range of very popular child-focused activities. Internationally reknown performers and eco-fairies are equally at home within this unique and delightful program.

The Open Day will also feature guided bus tours hosted by Bush Heritage Ecologists who will provide interesting
background to the conservation work and environmental research being undertaken at various locations in the Charles Darwin Reserve.

Following the Open Day is the much anticipated Blues for the Bush Concert. This is held on Saturday evening in the 'front paddock' of the Reserve and this year will feature a mix of interstate, West Australian and regional bands. This years concert will feature:

Moondog J (WA)

Genevieve Chadwick (NSW)

Shake 'Em on Down - featuring Junior & Greg Bowles (WA)

William Crighton & Band (NSW)

Chris Rusell's Chicken Walk (VIC)

Backsliders (NSW)

Visit www.bluesforthbush.org.au for details on what is on offer at the event.

PLEASE NOTE: You will need a ticket to attend the Blues for the Bush Concert and to camp at Charles Darwin Reserve. If you only plan to attend the FREE Open Day you do not need to book a ticket.
