Blood Lions Fremantle
Wed. 7 December 2016, 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm AWST
Every single day in South Africa at least two to three captive bred or tame lions are being killed in canned hunts. And hundreds more are slaughtered annually for the lion bone trade.
This explosive, multi-award winning documentary exposes the underbelly of this unscrupulous industry. From tourists and volunteers being duped into thinking they are contributing to conservation by hand raising cubs a few days old to lions being bred for the bullet, to be sold online to hunters who fly in; after a quick, efficient, cost effective and guaranteed kill. The cycle from cub petting to killing.
Almost 8,000 predators are being held in cages or confined areas, and none of this has anything to do with conservation. If we don’t act now, that number could well be over 12,000 within the next few years.
You have the power to stop lions being bred for the bullet.
This is a rare and exclusive event joined by SAVE African Rhino Foundation.
Not only will you see the original version of Blood Lions, Donalea Patman, Founder of For the Love of Wildlife will talk about her work in securing the Australian ban on lion trophies and body parts working with Ian Michler, lead role and Pippa Hankinson, Producer.
Confronting but not gory.
