Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

The fear around the HIV epidemic in the 1980s still largely persists today.

Misinformation and lack of information still makes many afraid, often leading to the stigmatisation of those living with HIV today.

Despite a very small risk of contracting the disease from those receiving antiretroviral treatment, many HIV+ people are still shunned and excluded.

This BLOOD talk brings together people who look at this topic in different ways from looking at the psychology of HIV-related stigma to the reality of experiencing it in their daily life.

Panel:

Dr Jenny Anderson, senior scientist at The Peter Doherty Institute

Professor Nick Haslam, Professor of Psychology at the University of Melbourne

Brent Allan, CEO of Living Positive Victoria
