🤲 Young Muslim Brothers and Young Muslim Sisters are proud to present their first collaborative event: “Blessed are the Strangers”! Consisting of two separate talks + panels 💬, games 🎁 and dinner 🍩, this initiative has been organised to bring the community together to speak to the youth about the identity struggles and relevant questions that concern them.

🌏 Today our Muslim youth have been tossed into a time of materialism, individualism and hyper-sexualisation, making it easy for them to fall prey to the agendas of society. They are posed with a series of questions they often struggle to answer: Who am I truly❓ What does my Islam mean to me as a Muslim living amongst a secular people❓ Why am I so different❓ Can I fit in and follow the Sunnah❓ Can I be both Western AND Islamic⁉️

🕌 We aim to acknowledge and celebrate our differences as the people who were once disgraced but then honoured and raised to the highest status through the religion of Islam. The Muslims of 1400 years ago did not conquer kingdoms 🕌 and become the greatest nation on earth 🌏 by being “normal". They were people who fought to survive amongst a society that shunned them, and after they fought their greatest battle – their own selves – they thrived on the lands.

🐪 We were never created to “be like everyone else”. Far away from Muslim lands, we can feel our strangeness but we often forget that “Islam began as a something strange and it will return to being strange, so blessed are the strangers.” [Muslim]

📚 Join us as we delve into two panels aimed at addressing our foundations & reminding us once more of our strangeness:

“Completing Half the Deen correctly” and “A stranger to Society '' with renowned community speakers and strong and experienced Muslim leaders.
