Description

Would you like to feel better prepared for parenthood?

Are you and your partner on the same page with your parenthood expectations?

We provide honest and relevant insight into life beyond birth, and will help you succeed in the most challenging, rewarding and life changing role you’ll ever have.

In the grand scheme of things, childbirth is the easy part...there is no epidural for Parenthood.

Don’t fool yourself into thinking that childbirth education is the end game – birth is just the beginning!

Have you ever heard other parents say that “no one told me it would be this hard.” This is often felt because so much emphasis is placed on the pregnancy and upcoming birth at the expense of focusing on the real deal – Parenthood! Whilst most other prenatal classes typically centre around birth preparation, we recognize that birth is a single milestone moment within an ongoing transformation and very steep learning curve to follow. Once your baby has arrived, the real work begins. There is so much to learn in such little free time.

Research shows that taking time to prepare for and understand parenthood improves parental adjustment, parent-baby interactions, personal health and wellbeing, relationship satisfaction as well as overall infant development through the first year following baby’s birth. (Gottman Institute; PANDA; Beyond Blue).

Prepare yourself for parenthood in pregnancy so that you are an empowered new parent and an enlightened partner.

Join us at Birthing the Parent - a unique Prenatal Parenthood Preparation Workshop.

**Please note: private in home workshops for couples are also available - enquiries@theparentsvillage.coml.au**

Our antenatal program offers an opportunity to identify and understand the many changes to your body, mind, lifestyle, career and relationships, and will equip you with the knowledge, techniques and tools to tackle these together with success.

Through a range of dynamic activities, you will have a chance to openly discuss, question, and reflect on this huge transformation, whilst connecting with your partner and other expectant parents in a relaxed environment.

Specifically, you will gain insights on the following topics:

* Managing expectations and embracing uncertainty
* Postnatal recovery and self care
* Early days with a newborn - bonding and attachment, feeding, sleep and settling
* Identity shifts after birth
* Physical and emotional adjustment to parenthood
* Communicating, connecting and strengthening your partner relationship
* Planning for practical and professional changes
And more!

Testimonials and feedback from our Birthing The Parent™ prenatal program in 2017:

“Very interactive and rich in content...and covered matters that one would never think of normally…The mix of experience in psychology, social work, coupled with experience of motherhood, delivered a very solid knowledge of the topics discussed.” M. Sampson.

“This program was extremely useful as it was parenthood focused, which feels like its lacking in the ‘normal’ market that is otherwise all about the 'baby'...This was Fantastic Preparation, almost like sessions of inside information!” P-W Sampson.

“Explained very well by both Kirsty and Lana..a great program! This could help a lot of new parents to know, understand and be prepared for their new born.” H. Ben-David.

”Thank you for holding this workshop..I found the...discussions to be a revelation for how to communicate and show my love to my partner.” A. Solano.

“The Birthing the Parent class with Kirsty and Lana was a great experience which I would highly recommend to all parents to be. It gives you a wonderful understanding to all topics, that no one specifically talks about before you have to make your own experience. It helps you a lot to calm your fears and anxieties, and understand your babies and your partners needs during this new level of parenthood.” S. Frohwerk.
