Event description
Birak - The beauty of local wildflowers: A series of seasonal talks

About this event

Join members of the Wildflower Society when they present the third in the series of talks about wildflowers that bloom during each of the six Noongar seasons.

This presentation covers the season of the first summer - Birak, which falls during the months of December and January.

Decreasing rains and rising temperatures towards the end of Kambarang, are both conditions that indicate the approach of the season of Birak.

Despite the rapid drying out of the bush, there is still a surprising number of plants yet to produce their beautiful blooms, including the Western Australian Christmas Tree whose spectacular display meant the 'first' Noongar summer had arrived.

This session is for adults.

Places are limited and bookings are essential. Visit library.armadale.wa.gov.au or call
