A celebration of past, present and future innovations in bionics research

Bill Wheeler was a very active member of the Illawarra community who took a keen interest in new bionic research at the University of Wollongong.

The event will feature a presentation by one of Australia’s most iconic scientists, Prof Graeme Clark, who has chnaged countless lives with his development of the Bionic Ear.

The annual Bill Wheeler Award will also be presented in association with the Graeme Clark Institute to an outstanding University of Wollongong student engaged in bionics research with a clear benefit to the public.

The $2000 prize is made up of community donations and assists the winning student to travel for collaborative work and to share cutting edge research with an international audience.

Join us to hear from:

  • The winning student;

  • ACES Director Prof Gordon Wallace; and

  • Prof Graeme Clark

Presentations will be suitable for a general audience.

Refreshments and opportunity to chat with presenters will follow.
