The bike maintenance workshops are hands-on workshops designed for cyclists of all abilities who want to be able to undertake essential repairs, adjustments and maintenance required to keep their bike operating safely and efficiently.
The workshop will cover areas including:
bike safety check
repair/change a tyre
brakes and gear adjustments
maintaining your bike in good condition.
Participants need to bring:
a bicycle in working order
basic tools and a pump if available (a multi-tool or Allen keys, screw drivers, tyre lever and puncture kit). (Some tools are provided.)
a rug or stool if needed for comfort
suitable work clothes or an apron or overalls
a water bottle
Who can attend?
Courses are aimed at people 16 years and over. Some classes may be designated for women only.
Do I need my own bike?
Participants should bring their own, properly working bike, to the workshops. However, a bike may be provided if requested.
What if courses are booked out?
Council will maintain a waiting list, so please contact firstname.lastname@example.org on the email provided should you wish to participate in a future class.
Who will run the courses?
Experienced staff from Metro Cycles will run the Bike Maintenance courses.
