Walk One, Tuesday 18 October 12.30 - 1.30pm: Today's walk includes talks with A Centre for Everything, who’s work Visible Hands discovers and develops the unspoken language of the market place, and Field Theory, who will be inhabiting and broadcasting from the market for a six day period in their work, 9000 minutes. This walk will be led by Biennial Lab Producer Ilana Russell. Booking below, and meet us at the Biennial Lab Hub.
Walk Two, Thursday 20 October 12.30 - 1.30pm: Today’s walk includes talks with SIBLING, whose work Over Obelisk obscures and asks the public to think through the contested John Batman monument, Isobel Knowles and Van Sowerwine, who’s animation tells the story of market traders relationship to the market in Out in the Open. This walk will be led by Digital Reporter Sarah Werkmeister.
Walk Three, Friday 21 October 12.30 - 1.30pm: Today’s walk includes artist talks with Kiron Robinson, whose work Upon this troubled sea which looks at the market’s chaotic fluidity through the concept of exchange, and Steven Rhall, whose work Gesture (70º East) New Day Rising uses the market’s grid formation in examining the demarcation of land and the grid’s influence on our urban environment. This walk will be led by Chief Curator Natalie King.
Walk Four, Saturday 22 October 12.30 - 1.30pm: Today’s walk includes two artist talks with Hiromi Tango, whose collaborative, undulating sculptural installation Wrapped extrudes from the built infrastructure on the Peel Street side of the A Shed, and The Mechanics Institute, who will be running a trade school looking at various economies including the art market in the Queen Victoria Markets during the week-long activation of Biennial Lab. This walk will be led by Public Art Melbourne Program Manager Lynda Roberts.
