Event description

Description

In light of multiple allegations of misconduct targeting some of Hollywood's most powerful and the eye-opening #metoo social media movement, it’s painfully clear that a truly safe and equal workplace is for many women still far from reality.

Governments and businesses are racing to announce new equality targts and safety measures, but what’s actually being done to make the workplace fair and safe for women?

Join with like-minded young professionals to learn the current state of gender equality in our wokrplaces, and discuss what practical steps we can take to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal of Gender Equality.

Find out about innovative company strategies and government initiatives that aim to address the issue of gender equality and safe workplaces, as well as spaces for improvement. The UNYP believes working towards ‘Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls’ is everyone’s business.

The event includes opportunities to network, a drink on arrival, nibbles and entry into our lucky door prize kindly donated by Brisbane social enterprise start-up, Words with Heart!

Our Speakers are;

Jenny Stephensen - Assistant Director, Workforce Strategy at Public Service Commission

Amy Cahill - Public Sector Accounts Executive at Microsoft

Lauren Heron - Talent Development Manager at Minter Ellison

We look forward to seeing you all there, and stay tuned for updates!
