LEAN PRINCIPLES OF THE ARH TIGER AND MRH90 TAIPAN
AME Site visits are a great opportunity to ‘learn by seeing’ and ensure you experience ‘hands on’ tools and skills to take back to your workplace. This tour will inform participants of the Systems & Software Support Centre (SSSC) and the part that Lean principles play in delivering systems and software support to our customers.
The SSSC ensures that the Australian Army’s Tiger Armed Reconnaissance helicopter and Taipan Multi Role Helicopter software, system architectures and ground systems meet the customer capability needs throughout life of type.
With more than 1700 staff at 19 sites across Australia and New Zealand, Airbus Group Australia Pacific has access to the financial strength and expertise of Airbus Helicopters and the Airbus Group. The company is assembling and delivering 47 MRH90 multi-role helicopters for the Australian Army and Navy and supporting 22 Tiger ARH armed reconnaissance helicopters for the Army.
Airbus Group Australia Pacific delivers new Airbus Helicopters machines and supports more than 500 aircraft through a network of local facilities.
In addition to its helicopter capabilities, Airbus Group Australia Pacific maintains the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) AP3C Orion reconnaissance aircraft and C130J Hercules transports. Through the work of subsidiary Safe Air, the Group supports the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s C-130s and P3s while being recognised as a leader in propeller and engine maintenance.
