Event description

Description

The Bendora Arboretum is the sole surviving arboretum in the Brindabella Ranges after others were destroyed in the 2003 bushfires.

Reconnect with nature and take some time out to explore and appreciate Canberra’s stunning Bendora Arboretum. With many of the trees over 75 years old, come and get a glimpse of what the National Arboretum will look in years to come.

Located just over an hour from the centre of Canberra, you will be amazed by the beauty of Bendora. Take in the fresh air whilst sharing a picnic with friends and family – you’ll find it hard to believe that such diverse wilderness is located in Canberra’s backyard.

The deciduous species will all be budding up; the Coniferous Larches opening their soft feather foliage (Larch are one of the few deciduous conifers in the world – one of 6 deciduous conifers); and the Maples and European Limes are simply stunning.
