Event description

Description

You are warmly invited to a presentation hosted by the Department of Education and Training in conjunction with the Department of Jobs and Small Business.

Many young people face a number of challenges in transitioning from education to work. As part of understanding and addressing these issues, the federal Department of Jobs and Small Business is delivering a presentation specifically tailored to the Bendigo local labour market region.

This presentation will provide valuable information on the linkages between educational attainment, demographics and industry needs to assist stakeholders in developing strategies and address barriers to employment. It will also provide details on industry growth areas and local skills in demand.

Mr Ivan Neville, Branch Manager of the Labour Market Research and Analysis Branch in Canberra, will present the Bendigo labour market information in a special session for education and training practitioners with the aim of providing insights for improving employment prospects of young people.

A light lunch will be provided upon arrival at 12 noon with the presentation starting at 12.30pm (approximately 1 hour duration) with additional time for questions and networking afterwards.
Bendigo teachers and careers practitioners are welcome to attend however places are limited so please register early.

For any further enquiries, please phone Vanessa Cheng (Project Manager, Bendigo Education Plan) on 03 5440 3191 or cheng.vanessa.m2@edmail.vic.gov.au.
