Beltane Women's Circle in the Moon Lodge
Event Information
About this Event
The Moon Lodge is a space provided for the gathering of women as we weave the threads of our life. It is a place where we can come and laugh, cry, sing, celebrate, and hold each other as we flow with the tides of our life. Where we can experience the in-breath and the out-breath, and the space in-between; and be reminded of the sacred things in our life – our connection to Self, our children, our lovers, our sisters, our families, and our Mother Earth. It's a simple place where we can return to the heart of community and be present for each other and share our ocean of life experience…
On this evening we will celebrate Beltane with Artemis WS House.
Beltane is the ceremony celebrating peak Spring, the Sun, and the passionate union of the masculine and feminine. At this time of rising energy, as we approach the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer, Beltane would be marked by giving thanks for our fertile lives, our creativity, and our gender-specific gifts and roles. It was celebrated with passion to encourage the continual turning of the wheel and bring on the peak light of Summer Solstice.
Traditionally this time was celebrated with the lighting of fires in each country town. The flames and their light symbolising the passionate union between the masculine and the feminine. Dancing and singing were customary, and celebrations honoring the healing powers of sexual union and fertility were performed. Fires honoring the return of the light were lit and communities gathered to laugh, dance, sing and be merry!
We will eat, share, sing, create and laugh together, using the 'circle as shaman' as we weave our stories into the wisdom and medicine we need to hear for our own personal life journey. And there will be Fire!
All women over 18 years old are welcome to attend. At this circle there will be adult themes discussed and shared.
Please bring a dish of vegetarian or vegan food to share and percussion instruments if you have any. In keeping with Beltane, a small token celebratory glass of wine will be offered if you wish. Please dress to be comfy, move and stay warm as we will be both inside and outside on the night. There will be further information in the confirmation email.
Please ensure that you arrive at 5.15pm for a prompt start at 5.30pm.
