About this Event

Being a Sustainable Business in the Circular Economy

Thursday 29 October (12.00pm - 2.30pm)

Innovate Moreton Bay presents a fireside discussion and interactive workshop as part of the 2020 Moreton Bay Region Business & Jobs Expo.

Fireside Chat (12.00pm - 1.10pm)

The dynamic duo of Leanne Kemp and Yasmin Grigaliunas will fire up on the hottest current topic – the Circular Economy. Leanne’s experience and achievements with the innovative Everledger, the World Economic Forum and as Queensland’s Chief Entrepreneur matches her challenging approach to all things sustainable.

Yasmin is the founder of the World’s Biggest Garage Sale and has creative insights into ways businesses and communities can embrace the concepts of the Circular Economy and build communities.

The Fireside Chat will be facilitated by Howard Nielsen from the Sustainable Startup Hub and Green Street. He is a Global Advisor to the UN Global Compact Cities Programme.

The Circular Economy Café : a workshop with a difference (1.30pm - 2.30pm)

The lead-in fireside chat will provide the stimulus for a Café Style workshop. A nice change in itself! We will convert what we know, learn and share about The Circular Economy into workable business strategies which add real value to our business and those with whom we do business … while building a better planet.

Chatter about the simplicity of The Circular Economy will soon slip easily from our lips as we engage in conversation about the challenges and potential triumphs of building more sustainable and profitable businesses and communities. We will go away with some clarity about what to do next as an important cog in the Circular Economy wheel.
