Behind the Brand - Mums who mean Business
Wed. 19 October 2016, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm AWST
In this first event of the Behind the Brand series we hear from 3 Perth businesswomen who have built successful businesses all while navigating motherhood.
Join MC Chrissy Morrissey for lunch as these businesswomen share their career journey and tell their personal story of how they make it work. We will then finish with a panel Q & A.
Our amazing speakers:
Nicci Ashby – High Profit Media
High-Profit Media is a small but powerful, heart centred business brought together by Western Australian award winning Entrepreneur Nicole Ashby. Like most small business owners Nicole was the same in sharing all the common challenges a business faces with her first venture: FIFO Families ... which later went on to become a globally recognised and trusted brand.
Built from the ground up on a shoestring budget Nicole Ashby learned by intelligently marketing her business to media companies in print, radio and television, she could have her message and strong value proposition marketed out for her - for free by them ... through large, targeted networks or people perfectly aligned to her business who would in turn become customers and create a platform for FIFO Familes to grow upon.
Nicci is the mother of 3 children.
Jani Schaper - Glamour Nail Bar
Jani Schaper is a Director and co-owner of Glamour Nail Bar. She opened the first salon when her daughter Scarlett was only 3 months old. Two years on, she is managing 20 staff, has another salon opening in October and has also launched her own brand of gel nail polish all the while juggling being a mum and running a Wedding and Event Planning business on the side which has been operating for the past seven years.
Seeing a gap in the nail services industry, Jani has worked tirelessly to build the service, experience and grandeur that is Glamour Nail Bar, and has been highly successful in creating a unique experience with a client list including national and international celebrities.
Previously, Jani was a High School Chaplain in one of Perth’s most challenging, and widely renowned as one of the "toughest" schools; and has also pioneered and been involved in many community programs across WA. She brings a wealth of knowledge, resilience and innovation which have supported her evolvement into a highly successful entreprenuer as well as her equally important roles as a mother and a wife.
Jani was recently a National Finalist in the Ausmumprenuer Awards which recognises the efforts, achievements and successes of Australian Mothers in Business.
