Intentions of Workshop
To leave workshop with confidence in basic Key Word Sign and AUSLAN to support early communication skills including practical tips for how you can use sign language during your daily routines.
What will I learn?
- What is sign language and why is it common speech pathology practice
- How to use at home with your child to supplement play and learning
- Learn up to 50 basic signs including colours, feelings, verbs and signs for social development. Focus on Northern AUSLAN (NSW/QLD) however most of the signs we will be learning will be Australia wide.
- Practical hands-on advice and small group learning
Who is this workshop for?
This online workshop is designed for parents, educators, therapists or disability advocates interested in learning more about sign language and how it can supplement learning and communication. No prior knowledge is required. This workshop is presented on ZOOM.
The workshop will run for approximately 1.5 hours however opportunity for Q&A when the workshop is completed.
Note - this is not an AUSLAN accredited course. A Max of 10 participants are required per course for the event to run.
