You’re invited! Come roam around the Abbotsford Convent dressed as a ghost, and join in the fun!
Bedsheet Ghost Party brings ghosts alive by playing classic party games around the Convent grounds. Let’s haunt the Convent like never before with spooktacular activities to keep our spirits high. We’ll have them shaking in their boots with our soulful ‘Boo Choir,’ while scaring ourselves silly for fun!
Children may bring their parents to the party, but there is a catch! To join in the games the adults must also partake in the thrill of becoming a bedsheet ghost. You may also observe as a live human being.
Ghost sheets will be provided for children, parents must bring their own sheet/material with eyes cut out.
‘Wwwhaahha ha ha haaaaaaa!’
‘Oh, I mean, Bbboooooooooooooooooooo!’
Dan Goronszy Arts creates unusual arts experiences to provoke conversation about humanity and the world. We have a particular focus on elevating the child’s voice in public space and flipping the norm in child/adult relationships.
In 2015, Dan co-created The Grand Caravan, Melbourne’s new portable purpose-built arts venue, inside a 1980s Millard Caravan. In Bedsheet Ghost Party, Dan collaborates with Sayraphim Lothian who creates playful experiences that allow moments of loveliness to flow between strangers. Her main body of work, Guerrilla Kindness, leaves tiny handcrafted artworks on the street for people to find and take home, injecting unexpected and magical moments in the lives of passers-by.
Bedsheet Ghost Party is presented as part of the Abbotsford Convent Foundation's flagship multi-arts event, Open Spaces 2016. Tickets to Bedsheet Ghost Party includes general entry to Open Spaces – simply show your tour ticket at the gate upon arrival. Without a prepurchased ticket, general entry to Open Spaces is $2 at the gate (children under 5 are free). For more information, please see the Abbotsford Convent's website.
