Description

You are invited to attend a Masterclass presented by the esteemed Professor Sally Kendall, MBE, Ph.D., B.Sc. (Hons), RN, RHV, FQNI, MFPH - Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly, hosted by the Nursing and Midwifery Office and Murdoch University Ngangk Yira.

As a nurse and health visitor Sally has promoted the role of nursing in primary and community care throughout her career. Sally’s main research interest is in primary and community health care, especially maternal and child public health research. This has led to research with Aboriginal communities in Western Australia at Murdoch University as a distinguished visitor and scholar.

Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly is part of a global project led by Yale University. Sally led the UK project across England, Scotland and Wales. The aim of Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly is to enable countries to identify the gaps in the environment that support, promote and protect breastfeeding. It takes a strength based approach to evidence that is brought together through a consensus building methodology, to inform policy about steps that need to be taken to scale up the breastfeeding environment. Ultimately, the Becoming Breastfeeding Friendly studies should contribute to improving breastfeeding rates and the health and wellbeing of mothers and infants.

We would encourage anyone with an interest in Breastfeeding, primary and community health care to attend.

Please forward this invitation.
