Event Details

Social media workshop for STEMM and health professionals and academics

Overview:

Social media is a tool that is currently severely underutilised by the medical research and healthcare fields in comparison to other innovation industries. While entering this arena can seem daunting, it represents a chance to create a compelling competitive advantage for early adopters and is an opportunity that can no longer be ignored.

Our workshop, Becoming an Online Influencer, will help you build a deeper appreciation and understanding of the power of social media and we will share skills, tools and techniques to position you as influencers and opinion leaders in the field of medical research and healthcare on social media.

Bring your fully charged laptops, tablets and smartphones and explore for yourself the tools and strategies that will be demonstrated in this workshop. Learn how to master social media and discover how it can add value to you and your organisation.

About the workshop:

At the end of the workshop you will walk away having designed your own social media strategy, specific to your professional objectives and goals. You will have the knowledge and tools to be able to alter this strategy as your career, circumstances and goals change. We take a deep dive into social media platforms, getting hands-on throughout the day (we don't believe in lecturing you all day - you learn best when you can get your hands on the keyboard). We will also share some of our tips and tricks as well as useful tools to optimise your social media activity.

Presenters: Your workshop presenters are all equipped with STEMM and communications qualifications and experience and are part of The Social Science 'Science Communications' team. They work with research institutes, university departments, medtech, biotech and healthcare organisations - all in the field of science communications, content creation and social media.

For bookings of groups of 5 or more, please contact us directly at info@thesocialscience.com.au. Please note, this event will not run unless 50% capacity is reached 72 hours prior to the workshop.
