Kickstart your weekend with an African drumming class!
This 2-hour session will start with some rhythm exercises which will help players develop their technique and dexterity. Then we'll move on to focus on the multiple layers of rhythms that combine to form a particular traditional African groove.
Djembes and dundun drums provided.
Your Teacher: Tara Tucker has studied this form of music with drumming ensembles and master drummers in several West African countries. She has taught djembe and dundun all over the world, including Australia, the US, Indonesia, Japan, India, China & Vietnam. Tara is one of only 2 Australian djembe teachers officially endorsed by the legendary djembe master Mamady Keïta (Guinea).
