Learn how to access records that were recently digitised by the Digitisation Hub in Canberra; with a focus on South Australian lighthouses.
About this event
The National Archives has recently digitised logbooks from four South Australian lighthouses – Cape Jaffa, Cape Willoughby, Cape Banks and Althorpe Island – as work carried out by the newly established Digitisation Hub in Canberra. Previously only available to those viewing them onsite, these fascinating records that cover the period from the 1850s to the 1960s are now available online. Come and find out about how to access these records, the work that has gone into digitising them and some of the stories they reveal about those who worked in these lighthouses.
This talk is part of a monthly series, SA Selections from the National Archives, that showcases newly available online content.
