Beach-nesting Birds Info Session-Learn about the special birds on our beach
Event Information
About this Event
If you have been to one of Adelaide's beaches lately you probably have seen the signs about birds that are nesting nearby. Or maybe you have seen the fenced off areas on the upper part of the beach?
Come and learn about what this is all about and discover the incredible and challenging lives of our beach-nesting birds. Through a presentation, BirdLife Australia staff will describe the life of Hooded Plovers and Red-capped Plovers before heading out on to the beach to try and view the birds firsthand.
Format: 1 hour presentation 10am - 11am, followed by optional beach walk at West Beach (30min)
Maximum 25 people due to Covid-19 restrictions. This event and venue will comply with the current SA Health restrictions of 1 person/4 m2. If you feel unwell please do not attend.
This project is supported by Green Adelaide, through funding from the Landscape Levy, the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program, BirdLife Australia and City of Charles Sturt Council.
