There’s science behind ‘people like doing business with people they like’ and it’s not always obvious or logical. Siebert incorporates psychology, behavioural economics, case studies and anecdotes from unlikely sources – as well as from business ventures around the world.

Responsible memory making, presented by Kerry Neethling

Creating brands that stand for something is vitally important. Brands have the potential to influence decisions and shape one’s outlook on the world from a very young age. Kerry outlines brand significance, and how, through the right advertising, positioning and marketing, a brand becomes synonymous with broader society.

It’s not about you, it’s about them, presented by Chris Croker

A common mistake many businesses make in branding is not acknowledging their audience – rather focusing on themselves. Chris discusses the power of focusing on your audience, and how optimising your branding can attract more people you want to do business with.

Subjectivity vs. objectivity in brand design, presented by Bastian Storch

There’s often a distinct difference between what a client thinks they need and want, versus what their product, service or business needs in order to appeal to the target market. Our challenge is to navigate the fine line between the two. Bas reveals design isn’t just graphic, it’s the architecture around that; the way a brand behaves and speaks, an understanding of customers, and most of all, connection.

Talk like a human: user experience for your client, presented by Karven Kwan

Not all clients are engineers or technical product managers, so don’t speak to them like they are. Karven explains how UX strategies can be applied to client interaction and management.

We’ve all got a story, presented by Emily Newberry

Every brand has a story as unique as the people behind it. Emily draws on some useful similarities between written and visual media – from developing a brand personality to crafting an engaging video narrative – to help you tell more compelling, human stories.
