During the last week of the school holidays, SynchroWA in partnership with major sponsor SunSmart are running a series of free synchronised swimming events, aimed at encouraging a new generation of swimmers to dive into this amazing sport.
For the first time in WA, 10 sessions will take place in 10 different locations over 5 days across the metropolitan area, from Wanneroo to Southlake, Bayswater to Fremantle.
This opportunity is open to boys and girls who love swimming and might also be interested in dance, gymnastics, trampolining or cheerleading as it gracefully combines the strengths and qualities of several disciplines.
While synchronised swimming is currently a relatively small sport in Australia, WA synchronised swimmers have achieved huge success in their field, with 4 of this year’s 15 WA Olympic athletes competing in our National Synchro Squad.
Synchronised swimming teaches many important life skills such as time keeping, teamwork, goal setting, resilience, the importance of community and self-confidence.
Dive into this fantastic opportunity and have a go at a sport you may never even heard of!
