Description

TOWN PLANNING: A YEAR IN REVIEW, AND WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT

The Victorian Planning regime is changing faster than ever… and being treated more and more as a political football. This seminar is designed to provide valuable insights into the most significant VCAT decisions and changes to the Victorian Planning Provision over the past 12 months. It will also look into the future and predict what permit applicants should expect as planning continues to evolve in Victoria. This seminar will provide an indispensable update for practitioners who prepare and manage their own planning permit applications.

Ashley Thompson from Clause:1 Planning will cover the following changes and more:

  • Changes to Garden Area, Bushfire Prone land and Flooding provisions;
  • VCAT appeals – change to the rules;
  • New interpretation of native vegetation removal;
  • Better Apartments Design Standards – a year in;
  • New VicSmart categories & VCAT’s interpretation;
  • Smart Planning Program – what this means for the future;
  • Will the information demands on permit applicants ever slow?
  • 60 Daytime & VCAT’s new interpretation;
    and more…

Ashley regularly presents at industry forums and contributes to industry publications on town planning matters, and his past presentations at BDAV forums have been highly praised.
