Event description
Join us at Brisbane School of Theology, 6-7 December 2021, for the Bavinck Centenary Conference.

About this event

To mark the centenary of the death of Dutch theologian and statesman, Herman Bavinck (1854-1921), Brisbane School of Theology will be convening a two-day conference. Five plenary sessions will examine the contours of Bavinck’s theology, two roundtables will consider Bavinck’s relevance for contemporary Christianity, and short papers will address various aspects of Bavinck’s life, thought, and legacy.

Our desire remains for this conference to function as an in-person event, and we would strongly encourage all Queensland delegates to attend the event in person. We would also love interstate delegates to join us, in the event that state border closures have relaxed enough for this to take place. However, given the current worldwide COVID situation, we are offering a Zoom alternative at a discounted rate, which will not include meal costs etc). All the sessions and plenary presentations will be made available, and we hope to see you there. If last-minute changes to interstate border restrictions prohibit any Australian delegates from attending, you will be welcome to join our international guests on Zoom, and your ticket price will be revised accordingly. You can book with confidence, knowing that one way or another, the Bavinck Centenary Conference will proceed as planned! Thank you!
