Event description

Description

Melbourne’s north has a significant bat population. The Friends of Organ Pipes National Park have been monitoring bats and their health since 1994 and there are over 500 bats in the park! At this bat discovery event you can help examine the bats up close. Learn how the bats came to be in the Organ Pipes National Park, and what are contributing factors when their populations are in decline. Participants are welcome to arrive between 12 and 2pm to help collect bats from their boxes, and to stay on until dark with members of the Friends of Organ Pipes National Park to help with a bat release.

Free afternoon tea provided.
