THE NATIONAL: NEW AUSTRALIAN ART 2017

Basically Black - Richard Bell
Saturday 1 April 3pm

Richard Bell will introduce a screening of Basically Black, a television pilot which was made by ABC Television in 1973 following Basically Blacks theatrical success at Nimrod Theatre. Following the screening Richard Bell will lead a discussion on the contemporary resonances of Basically Black almost half a century after it was first created with original Basically Black scriptwriter and actor Gary Foley; Lydia Miller, Executive Director of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts, Australia Council for the Arts and Bronwyn Penrith, Chair, Moreton Consulting.
