Description

Basic Birds will give you basic knowledge and understanding of the rescue, rehabilitation and release of sick, injured or orphaned birds.

80% of all animals in care with ACT Wildlife are birds, so this course is the ideal starting point for those wishing to become new carers, before moving onto other species.

Topics include:
* Identification of local species
* Anatomy
* Diet
* Husbandry
* Common ailments and injuries
* Care and rehabilitation
* Considerations before release

Please arrive at 8:30am to register for an 8:45 am start.

Tea and coffee are provided. Please bring lunch and some morning tea to share. Please also bring your own mug.
