This popular and free 2 hour demonstration workshop will allow participants to learn how to undertake bike checks, make basic adjustments, take off a wheel, replace an inner tube, repair a puncture and clean a chain. Bikes are optional - if there's time, any participant bikes can have a brief safety check. This session is based on our standard Basic Bike Maintenance workshop but will have an emphasis on winter riding e.g.:
1. Maintenance – cleaning wheel rims, replacing v-brake pads, tips on best tyres, correct chain lube
2. Gear – tips on clothing, shoes, eye protection, bags, mudguards, lights/reflectors (visibility)
3. Skills – tips on speed, careful cornering/handling, avoiding potholes, puddles and certain surfaces
Handout notes will be provided, plus maps and other useful info.
Maximum of 20 places.
