Want to give your bike some love?

This 2-hour beginners workshop covers the basics of how to look after your bike.

There will be demonstration and advice on:

  • Bike fitting
  • Bike tools and parts
  • Safety checks
  • How to repair a puncture
  • Checking tyre pressure
  • Removing wheels
  • Replacing a tube
  • Oiling a chain

This session is a REPEAT of the course that is being held on Saturday 7th October from 10am - 12noon. You only need to register for ONE of these workshops.

This practical session is run by the professionals at Bikes@Work and is proudly supported by the City of Darebin for people who live, work or study in the municipality.





FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there an age limit?

  • Yes. This course is primarily aimed at adults. However, those aged 9 years and older are welcome to attend. Participants aged 16 years and under must be accompanied by an adult.

How do I get there?

  • Bicycle: Ride along the Hurstbridge Line Bike Shimmy Route, and park your bike at the hoops near the entrance. You can explore all our Bike Shimmy Routes in this google map. And you can download a copy of our TravelSmart Map via our website.
  • Train: Westgarth Station (Hurstbridge Line) and Merri Station (South Morang Line) are both within easy walking distance. You can also use the PTV App to help plan your journey.
  • Tram: Take Tram 86 to stop 27 and then take a super-short walk. You can also use the PTV App to plan your journey.
  • Car: Street car-parking is available.

Should I bring my bike?

  • This is a mostly demonstration workshop and there will only be 5-10 minutes to check over participants bikes. Therefore, you are welcome to bring your own bike, but it is not essential.

I don't live, work or study in Darebin. Can I do this workshop?

  • Unsold tickets will be made available for people from outside Darebin one week prior to the workshop.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

  • You don't need to bring your ticket on the day.

What is the refund policy?

  • Refunds are not available for this workshop. However, if you are no longer able to attend, you may transfer your ticket to another friend or family member by updating your registration online.
