Join ACT Wildlife and learn about the beautiful bats that come into care in our region.

About this Event

This is an introduction to the care, rehabilitation and release of Flying-Foxes and Microbats

Topics will include:

  • Basic anatomy
  • Licence and legislation
  • Equipment for caring
  • Why animals come into care
  • Rescue
  • Zoonosis
  • Handling
  • Housing
  • Diet
  • Basic first aid
  • Release
  • Orphans

Please note: Wild animals must be kept separately from any any pets you have.

Registration will begin at 8.45am for a 9.00am start, and the day will finish around 4pm.

Tea and coffee are provided. Please bring some morning tea to share and your own lunch and cup.
