Veteran Australian political journalist, as well as a radio and television host and presenter and commentator for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation leads our final Leading the Agenda for 2017 'Are We Over Governed?'

Dr John Hewson AM
Former Leader of the Federal Opposition, Australia
Dr John Hewson is an economic and financial expert with experience in academia, business, government, media and the financial system. He has worked as an economist for the Australian Treasury, the Reserve Bank, the International Monetary Fund and as an advisor to two successive Federal Treasurers and the Prime Minister. In February 2014, Dr Hewson joined the Australian National University as Professor and Chair of the Tax and Transfer Policy Institute.

Dr Andrea Carson
Lecturer in Media and Politics at the University of Melbourne. She is also an honorary fellow at the University's Centre for Advancing Journalism. Her research interests are newspapers and the business model of print journalism; journalism studies; media ownership and regulation; media effects and political agenda setting; investigative journalism; media theory; political communication; elections and election reporting.
