Description
This course applies to espresso machine operators. Students will be trained and prepared for employment in cafes and other food and beverage outlets.
On completion of this training you will be able to:-
- Use a commercial espresso machine
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffees
- Café miseen place
- Identify various coffee beans
- Make foamy milk for latte’s and texture milk
- Correct storage of coffee beans
- Achieve the correct grind
- Extract coffee and monitor quality of espresso
- Espresso troubleshooting
- Identify various milks
- Correct storage of milk
- Clean a commercial espresso machine using correct chemicals
- End of service procedures
- Advise customer on espresso coffee beverages
- Organise and prepare work areas
- Use hygiene practices for food safety
Students deemed compitent will get a Nationally Recognised certificate in:
SITHFAB005 - Prepare and serve espresso coffee
SITXFSA001 - Use hygienic practices for food safety
The delivery is face to face by qualified trainers and assessors who use a number of different training techniques to cater for all learning styles.
Each student will be using their own group handle and grinder.
Course pathway: Certificate III in Hospitality
Closed in shoes must be worn for the training
