Overview

Two-day hospitality training workshop for young people aged 14 to 17.

Kickstart your hospitality journey with our hands on barista and waiter skills course, designed for young people keen to boost their confidence and employability for their first casual hospitality job.

Across two days, you will develop essential skills for working in a café, restaurant or fine dining environment through interactive workshops that demonstrate the complete service cycle.

Under the guidance of qualified trainers, you will learn the fundamentals of espresso preparation, milk texturing and machine handling. You will also learn the essentials of service and build confidence in taking and serving order, plate carrying, table clearing, customer communication and workplace professionalism.

At the end of the course, you’ll receive a nationally recognised certificate of completion. This course is 50% subsidised by Willoughby City Council as part of our commitment to supporting young people in our LGA.

Course requirements

  • USI number.
  • You must be 14 to 17 years of age
  • Once purchased, you will receive a link to the Short Courses Australia enrolment website via email - this enrolment must be completed prior to the workshop.
  • You will need to bring or buy your own lunch during the break.
  • Participants must wear enclosed shoes.
