Have you ever thought about making your own movie? What if you could make a big screen movie entirely on your phone or tablet?

About this Event

Lost in Space !!

In this Smartphone Filmmaking Class, you will learn how to write, film, edit and produce your own blockbuster movie! We are partnering up with SmartFone Flick Fest (SF3), Australia’s international smartphone film festival for filmmakers of all ages. They will help you bring your ideas to life and have experience training everyone from budding young moviemakers to emerging and professional filmmakers. Their films have been seen by a global audience, without the need for lots of fancy equipment or big budget. So come learn about leading techniques and get the hottest tips from the industry.

Course length:

  • Six weeks beginning Monday 18 May to 29 June
  • Forty-five minute classes each week

Class Structure:

  • Live interactive online workshops taught by a film-making pro
  • The final outcome of the class with be a full length movie, which can be entered into the 2020 SmartFone Flick Fest!

Age range:

  • 8-16 years old (eligible for SF3 Kids Finals)


  • $60 (this includes all lessons, FREE editing software and FREE entry into the SmartFone Flick Fest)

The Theme

Lost In Space- exploring beyond the boundaries of our homes

We’re going into the great unknown to explore your world, real or imagined. We want you to show us the worlds you create in your imagination. Whether it’s a science-fiction realm with monsters and magic, or an exploration of time and space, it’s your world to create.


Each film must contain : a vacuum, a toothbrush and a piece of fruit
