Description

Bring family, friends and neighbours and join in the fun at the Bally Bolt Fun Run on Sunday 17 March 2019!

Whether you’re a casual runner, a competitive athlete, or someone just wanting to have fun, this is a fantastic way to support your children and our local community as well as raise money for the new young adult hospice in Manly. We are delighted to welcome pupils from not only Balgowlah Heights Public School, but also Balgowlah North Public School and Balgowlah Boys who will help us make this a truly community event.

Local roads around the beautiful Tania Park will be closed for the run, making it a safe event for everyone. There are a choice of two distances - 2.7km or 5km. The 5km race will have timing chips so that you can race the clock and compete for prizes. The shorter distance is flat for participants of all levels of fitness to enjoy and all participants will receive a special Bally Bolt wristband.

You can sprint, run, jog or walk and we encourage family and team entries. Children under four and children in strollers are free. However, if you would like a bib for your little one you will need to register them. Please note the final amount on checkout includes an Eventbrite payment processing fee.

Don't forget your Bally Bolt trucker hat when you order! All profits from the hats go to the Manly young adult hospice.

The Bally Bolt is raising valuable funds for our local schools but this year we are delighted to announce we are supporting the new adolescent and young adult hospice being built on the old Manly Hospital site. You can find more information about the hospice on our website at www.ballybolt.com

And of course, once you've done all the hard work, come and get some rest and refreshments and join in the fun at the Bally Bolt Fair after the race.

Is there supervision for kids along the course?

There are course marshals - however all children requiring monitoring should be accompanied by a supervising adult as per the waiver terms and conditions you must consent at time of booking.

Where does the race commence?

The race starts between the senior and junior campus on Lewis Street. Runners should enter from Ernest Street.

Can I run in a team?

Yes! We welcome teams of SIX or more and there will be a prize for the overall fastest team in the 5km distance only. Purchase either an adult or child ticket but be sure to enter your team name in the field so we can record your times.

How do I get one of those Bally Bolt Trucker hats?

You can order one when you purchase your tickets and they will be available to collect when you pick up your bib. Alternatively they will be available to buy on the day. Don't forget, all proceeds go to the young adult hospice at Manly.

Where can I view the courses?

Maps of our 2.7km and 5km courses are available on our website www.ballybolt.com

Are there drinks along the course?

There will be a water station at Tania Park, but runners are encouraged to bring a water bottle as required. There is a water station at the school that can be used prior/after the event and water available is also available from the water fountain at the toilet block at Tania Park.

Can I buy food and drinks after completing the fun run?

Yes, food and drink will be available to buy at the post-race Bally Bolt Fair.

Is there parking near the start line?

There is no parking station. Participants are encouraged to utilise public transport or park in nearby streets.

What's the refund policy?

No refunds are available. This is a fund raising event.

Are there any booking fees?

Yes. Eventbrite adds a payment process fee to the final amount when you checkout.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

You will receive entry confirmation by email when you register. We will update this section with times to collect your bibs closer to the race. It will be possible to collect bibs on the day, but we advise against this due to crowd numbers.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, online at Eventbrite. Any problems, email ballybolt@gmail.com

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes, online up to one week prior to the event.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

No.

Do I have to sign a Waiver Agreement?

Yes, you can view online here. You'll need to accept the waiver checkbox when you purchase your ticket.
