This practical session will help you get ready to ride by improving your skills and confidence and teaching you strategies for riding safely on paths and roads. In a traffic free area you will learn about bike control, stopping, turning and defensive riding techniques.
This practical session is run by the professionals at Bikes At Work and is proudly sponsored by Darebin Council for people who live, work or study in Darebin.
Unsold tickets will be made available for people from outside Darebin one week before the event.
How do I get there?
Bike: Ride on the St Georges Road shared path to Bell Street.
Train: Take your bike on the train to Bell Station which is a 2 minute walk away (South Morang Line).
Car: Available at Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre car park.
What should I bring?
You will need to bring:
- A bicycle in good condition with working brakes, a bell and pumped up tyres.
- A well fitting bicycle helmet.
- Runners or similar closed-toe footwear.
- Sun/weather protection.
- A bottle of water.
- A snack (optional).
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You don't need to bring your ticket on the day.
