About this Event

Join us for an information session and hear from our academics on our specialist one year Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours).

Top 3 reasons to study your Fine Art (Honours) at Monash

  1. Research intensive focus to extend your artistic practice.
  2. Broaden your industry connections studying with Monash academics and practising artists.
  3. Graduate ready for professional practice or transition to further research opportunities.

We offer two areas of specialisation:

(Honours) Fine Art studio

You will undertake an independent studio based research project. The degree consists of the major project studio research and a written mini-exegesis, with two coursework units (one semester of studio methodologies and one semester of advanced art theory). You will be supervised throughout the year by a team of advisors.

Presented by Dr. Nicholas Mangan, Coordinator of the Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) Program.

(Honours) Curating art history and theory

Research-oriented and non-prescriptive in the terms of its content, you will produce a proposal at the beginning of the semester but are free to carry out their work with any number of deviations from their original plans. The intentions of your proposal and the results of your work are debated in group discussions and critical sessions.

Presented by Professor Luke Morgan and Dr Helen Hughes, Coordinators Curatorial.

Applications are NOW OPEN with classes commencing March 2021.
