Description

This free CALD Health forum will seek to raise awareness regarding cultural practices in some communities (from cultural and liguistically diverse backgrounds) that may violate the human rights of individuals affecting their mental, emotional and physical well-being.

Two topics will be covered:

  1. Female Genital Cutting (Circumcision)

  2. Forced Marriage


Who should attend?

Service Providers in the Eastern Region such as:

  • Health Workers; (including doctors,nurses and emergency personnel)

  • Educators;

  • Social Workers;

  • Law Enforcement Officers;

  • Community Leaders;

  • Faith Leaders and

  • Volunteers

Please note:

  • Although attendance is free, bookings are a requirement.
  • Disability access (please enter via the rear of the hall).
  • Parking is limited in the area, plan to arrive early.
  • Registration commences at 9:30 am with tea and coffee available.
  • The forum will officially commence at 9:45 am. and close at approximately 2:30 pm.
  • A light lunch will be served with vegetarian and gluten free options.
