AWAKE SYDNEY

The Awake Sydney Prayer Summit is a day of hope and growth for the younger generations of Sydney’s combined local Churches.

It is a day when the ten most senior Youth Directors of Sydney’s largest denominations, who represent thousands of local Churches, will gather together with a delegation of key leaders from their respective movements to ask God to move with power in our city.

From prayer and conversation, a joint concern emerged that many young people are struggling with their view of Jesus Christ and the Church. The heartfelt desire of this summit is for our city to understand on a citywide scale, the true heart and message of both Jesus Christ and His followers. A ‘reformation’ within our city of what Christianity actually is, namely: a force of love and not hate, an institution that protects and not harms, that is essential to daily life and spirituality.

The Bible and Christian history teaches us that unified prayer has never failed before and will not fail the Church of today (Acts 1:14; 2:1). We believe that the best is truly yet to come for the Churches in our city, state and nation.

The Awake Sydney Prayer Summit will include content from the combined Youth Directors of Sydney’s ten largest denominations and Rev Dr John Dickson.
