Overview

Join Kate Rowe at Nowra Library for an inspiring talk on survival, self-discovery & music. Includes live ukulele band performance!

Join LGBTQIA+ activist and musician Kate Rowe for an unforgettable evening as she shares her remarkable life story, music, and the lessons learned along the way.

Kate’s memoir, How the F*ck Would I Know?, is a raw and inspiring account of survival and self-discovery. From battling addiction and trauma to competing in Ironman races and embracing ukulele jams, Kate’s journey is one of resilience and reinvention.

Arriving in Australia as a “Ten Pound Pom” in the 1970s, Kate faced the shadows of her past while carving out a new life. Her story spans recovery, embracing her sexuality during the first Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and navigating the political and social tensions of the time. Along the way, she found light in life’s mess—through writing, music, and moments of joy.

Following her talk, Kate will be joined by her band Wahine Soundz for a live performance.
