Description

Martin Sharp His Life & Times

With Joyce Morgan

Martin Sharp’s psychedelic images defined the heady spirit of the late sixties. His collages, posters, album covers, paintings and cartoons, reflect his sharp eye and penetrating wit. He blurred the boundaries of high art and low with images of Dylan, Hendrix and naked flower children. He was charged with obscenity and collaborated with Eric Clapton as he drew rock stars and reprobates into his world. From OZ magazine, Swinging London and Sydney’s Yellow House, Sharp was at the epicentre of a cultural flowering. His biographer Joyce Morgan will shed new light on the charismatic and eccentric Sydney artist.
