Carol Major is a mentor at Varuna, Australia's National Writer's House. Her skill lies in identifying the heart of a story and matching it with craft. Now she has whispered out her own heart in a memoir.
Carol wrote "The Asparagus Wars" in the battlefields of France following the death of her terminally ill daughter whom she had attempted to spirit away to Paris.
Patti Miller is the author of numerous books, articles and essays published in national newspapers and literary magazines. She has taught literature and writing for many years around Australia and internationally. Her memoir, The Mind of a Thief, was longlisted for the Stella Prize and the Nita Kibble Prize, shortlisted for the WA Premier's Prize for Non-Fiction and won NSW Premier's Prize for History.
