Event description
A Handbook for Migrants: The Good, The Challenges and The Lessons - A Reflective Guide for Meaningful and Whole-Life Experience

About this Event

Come to a special talk at Girrawheen library and hear about migrating to Australia from published author Ephraim Osaghae.

Each migrant to Perth needs all the help that he or she can get. This book provides that, and much more. It is a reflective guide about the beneficial aspects of migration, the social, economic and cultural challenges, as well as associated solutions. All these are presented from a migrant’s point of view and with anecdotes from someone that has walked the path. Ephraim is keen to share lessons learned so that it will be more comfortable and more rewarding for others, especially new, emerging and even established migrants.

Ephraim will share from his book as well as facilitate conversations around questions like:

• What are the benefits of migration and living in a blessed country like Australia?

• What are the challenges with employment and careers for migrants? Are there sustainable solutions?

• What are the peculiar challenges with regards to family life including marriages, children and youths?

• How are migrants preparing for aging, retirement and generational dynamics?

• How do we as a nation make multiculturalism work for everyone?

Who should attend this talk:

• New and emerging migrants;

• Multicultural families, school-aged children and youths;

• Community leaders and their various committees and members especially those of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) backgrounds;

• Non-migrants, students, locals and others interested in the topic of multicultural Australia

Ephraim Osaghae is an author, business and project management professional and has worked with multinational companies with projects in Africa, Australia and The Middle East.
