Event description

Description

Welcome to our first Author Happy Hour at Elle and Matt's HERE Collective, a chance to enjoy a drink, some snacks and truly hang out and converse with a fascinating author. This discussion is for anyone who has ever questioned their work and the possibility that their vocation could be better aligned with their values and life purpose.

Most author's readings, we think, are pretty dull, both for the author and the audience. So we've tried to reimagine them around more of a dynamic conversation. We'll start at 6:00 with informal mingling, followed by a moderated town hall interaction with our friend Adam Smiley Poswolsky, author of The Quarter-Life Break-Through: Invent Your Own Path, Find Meaningful Work, and Build a Life That Matters.

Key to our experience will be Smiley revealing why he wrote this book and what he hoped it might accomplish in this world.

Ticket price includes the drinks, snacks and a signed copy of Smiley's book.

We'll be pouring donated wines from our friends at Bee Hunter Vineyard up in the Anderson Valley and maybe a cocktail or two.

  • Assorted pickles, olives, dolma and nuts.

  • Assorted Marin, Sonoma and Mendocino cheeses and salumi w/water crackers.

  • Smoked Alaskan salmon on rice crisps w/neufchattel spread, fresh dill and capers.

  • Began endive cups w/sheep's milk ricotta, honeycomb, Marcona almonds and blackberries.

  • Boquerones w/anchovy butter, shaved fennel & Meyer lemon zest on crostini.
