Author Event: Sanuli Karunaratne at Burnie Library

By Burnie Library

Overview

Burnie Library is pleased to be hosting a special event celebrating youth achievement and creativity.

Fifteen-year-old Marist Regional College student Sanuli Karunaratne will be launching her recently published book of poetry - dance of the day – a short collection of poems, published by Forty South Publishing.

dance of the day is an anthology of poems and art that is inspired by all that makes life beautiful: the sun, the stars, and love- but also inspired by the inherent sadness of being alive. From the simplicity of playing on a swing set, to the stark honesty of death, dance of the day is a short but powerful commentary on humanity and the world that exists around it.

Community members are warmly invited to attend and hear from Sanuli as she shares her work and creative journey. Copies will be available for purchase from Not Just Books on the day.
