Join us at Smithton Library for an inspiring author talk with Mary Kay, celebrating her new book Angel of Bass Strait.

Mary has lived an extraordinary life from surviving WWII bombings in a Yorkshire mining town to flying to Australia on a Sunderland flying boat, farming in Circular Head, and managing a marine radio base for nearly three decades.


A passionate historian and the author of five books, including Tin Can Heroes, she has been honoured with numerous awards.


Don’t miss the chance to hear Mary Kay share her remarkable journey and speak about her new book Angel of Bass Strait.


Parking is available at the rear of the library. Smithton Library has an accessible entrance ramp at the front with automatic doors. For any specific accessibility requirements or questions, feel free to contact us at 6478 9574.
