Australian Winter Curiosities @ Longford Library
Create a colourful emu wall hanging or native flower collage.
About this event
Did you know that emus mate and nest over the Australian winter? Also, in winter the emus diet becomes plant-based due to the fewer opportunities to consume insects. The banksia is an excellent source of food for native birds in winter. They provide nectar for insects, birds, and small mammals, then as the flowers age and seeds form during winter, food becomes available for seed-eating birds.
Join us at Longford Library to learn more about our native flora and fauna in winter and use your artistic curiosity to create a colourful emu wall hanging or native flower collage.
